It's a nifty gadget. My only complaint is that it keeps my beverages way TOO hot. I often need to remove the mug from the warmer and let my drink cool back off.
I love using it, however I wish there was an automatic turn-off at some point. I have it on my desk at work and have left it on many times when I leave. Does not break or burn the mugs. Need some type of safe guard.

I've owned a lot of mug warmers, usually cheap (in cost and quality), but this is by far the nicest... sleek, modern design, and two temperature settings. My husband and I work from a home office, and use the warmers daily. With winter, it's especially nice to put the warmer on Low to keep our cups warm between fillings. We thought we would miss an auto-off feature, but now we remember how annoying it was. If this is like other Brookstone products, it will last and last... it's well worth the cost!

The only reason I checked difficult to use was because I would like a cordless warmer so I can use outside. Works well. Has two settings.

ON HIGH IT WILL HEAT A CUP OF COFFEE AND THEN I PUT IT ON THE LOW POWER. I AM GOING TO BUY ANOTHER ONE TO USE IN MY LIVING ROOM SO I CAN LEAVE ONE IN MY HOME OFFICE. 16 OZ. DINER MUG FITS GREAT

I don't drink my tea that fast and it tends to get cold. I usually have to reheat my tea a couple of times. Not anymore since I finally got smart and got this beverage warmer!

I owned this product 20 yrs ago and used it constantly. It finally wore out and when it came time to replace it, I went with cheaper off brands and they never matched up with the quality of Brookstone's. The beverage never seemed to stay warm with the generic versions. I found this online and bought it the moment I saw it since we don't have Brookstone in my city. Wish we did.

I love this warmer. It looks nice on my desk and functions well.

I ordered this beverage warmer for my Mom for her birthday and she loves it. She hates her coffee to go cold and with this warmer, that never happens. It looks great on her end table. The only con I see is the new smell. I'm sure it will wear off soon. Other than that, it's great.

I use it daily in office.. I like to enjoy my coffee over a few hours, and it's great to have it hot till the last sip.
The weird smell is the only downside. It hasn't gone away after a couple of weeks, and it keeps smelling as long as the warmer is plugged in..

This warmer sits on a nightstand by my bed. I put a cup of coffee on it in the morning while I sit up and read the paper and watch the news. Prior to getting the warmer, my coffee would get cold before I finished the cup. I use it in the evening to keep a cup of tea or a brandy warm while I read a book. An abso;utely outstanding product!!
I get to work at 8:30am and the first thing I do is switch this puppy on high and grab a cup of tea. It stays on all day (until 5pm) and keeps cup after cup of tea at just the right temperature. I've used the warmer like this (weekends aside) every day for over a year with no complaints. I've never had a problem with odor or beverage cool-down. When this one dies, you can be sure I'll be running to the nearest Brookstone to buy another one!!

Decided to try this product, even after reading the mixed reviews.It actually works pretty well, and does keep me from having to run to the micro to continually warm up my tea/coffee. I was using SS travel mugs for my coffee since they keep things hot much longer, but I have to hand-wash those and it's kind of a pain. This little warmer makes it nice to be able to use a dishwasher-safe mug when I want. At [$]it's a nice little gift - bought one for the boss (yeah, nothing's too good for MY boss!)Pros: Keeps your beverage pretty hot; attractive design looks nice on the desktop.Cons: As others have noted, it does have a strong, burning-plastic smell on the "high" setting. This seems to have faded over time and is now only faintly noticeable. I imagine that maybe after a few more hours of use, it will disappear altogether.

Works fairly well, and saves me from having to run to a microwave to heat a partialy drunk cup of coffee. However, speed of heating depends on height of lip around bottom of mug, as only the lip touches the heating surface directly. The larger the bottom of the coffee mug and the shorter the lip on the bottom of the mug, the faster the mug heats.

Okay, I received a warmer for Christmas, because I have been buying 20 oz lidded cups for my coffee to try and keep it warm, my daughter thought it was a great idea. Actually it was.I work at home, my coffee is always cold. However, I was disappointed in the competitor's, as it only kept my coffee just off of cold. I tried different size cups, different styles, etc. My cat used it as a foot warmer. I saw Brookstone's warmer and took a chance. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. It definitely keeps the coffee warm, piping hot, it does not, but natually there is the potential for a fire hazard there. Obviously the larger the cup, the less effective it is at keeping it warm. The more surface area touching the plate helps a great deal. I have also had 'half of cups' of cold coffee on my desk that I have warmed up without a problem. I realize this is not its intended use.When I work I have two cups of coffee with me, since I prefer 20 oz over 12. One is on the warmer and one I drink (or it gets cold and I grab the other). It has alittle trouble with the 12 oz of coffee, but it is still drinkably warm. My cat, a resident of my desk, however, does not like it, as it is uncomfortably warm for her feet.The only con I have found with it, well there are two: I drink more coffee because the coffee is actually 'warm'! Somebody mentioned the smell. I would not use anything but ceramic type mugs on it. Also, I would really clean it before the initial use, as I did have a pecular smell the first day. My other one said to clean it before use, so I cleaned this one and have never noticed any smell from it.[...]

I bought this warmer as a stocking stuffer for my mom who always likes a coffee "warm up" throughout the morning. Now, instead of having to warm up her coffee by adding more, she can just use the handy coffee desk warmer. This is a very useful item for an office desktop - it keeps beverages warm just like it says. But, beware, if you like to use the special no-spill coffee cups and not the traditional mugs, it will not do as good a job warming your beverage. Also, I felt this item was a little pricey for what it is.

I gave this as a gift to my stepdad, who loves to lounge on Sunday mornings with his coffee. With the beverage warmer, he doesn't have to get up to microwave his coffee when it gets cold.
