It was a present for a friend and he loved the look and the ease of downloading his pictures. They are easy to crop and look very bright. I bought a few digital key chains way back when they came out as well as recently and they were always a hit!
Don't try to load pictures with a lot of people or small details or a scenery, they will too hard to see,this is not its intended use. But a close-up on a face or object (kids, dog, flower...) come out great, even up 2-3 people.

I'd recommend, if you're giving this as a gift, to pre-load the pictures on it before giving it. The look on their face when they see pictures that have personal meaning is priceless.

I scanned and downloaded over 20 years worth of Christmas photos into this ornament. The software was easy to use, and the cable to connect it to the computer was included, making downloading a snap. This ornament will be updated yearly and always displayed on the coffee table during Christmas time.

I will be upfront with everybody first, I have not gotten to use this product yet. I bought it as a Christmas gift, so it won't get used until next year. But my thoughts...The display is bigger then I thought it would be, the constructions seems solid. Price seems to be a bit high, but overall this is a one of a kind item.

A really cool Christmas idea...very easy to put photos on the ornament. Only drawback is that you must crop the pictures to fit into the preset size, but it's not a big deal.

Once the ornament was downloaded with pictures of past Christmas morns, it was the star of the show. As the pictures scolled, everyone remembered different things about that year and the fun things that happened.

This was the perfect gift for the person who has everything. You can not only use it at christmas but if you have a hanger for a candle votive you can replace the candle votive and put the digital ornament there for year round use

Parents or grandparents with an abundance of photos are always looking for new ways to display and view them. What's better than on your Christmas tree.
I was very surprised how easy it was to use and the clarity of the pictures! However, with 2 AAA batteries it doesn't continually display pictures and the batteries do not last very long. I would like to see a different power source option. Overall, I would recommend this product, I would just advise buying some extra batteries!

During the synchronization, received an error message that said "Synchronization Failed"; no mention of this in the limited instructions. Then my keyboard and mouse "failed"...so I cannot try again. Called Mr. Mouse and they sent me to the store. Brookstone was helpful in telling me the pictures must be 640 x 480. No mention of this in instructions.

Basically, this product is easy to use and usually shows images crispy; however, it is still hard to sometimes see the images from far distances.

This ornament comes with software that must be used to load the digital photos. It is helpful if you do two things to start. First put copies of the photos you want to use in a specific directory. Second, use some other software to crop your photos down as small as possible to get the image you want displayed. When you actually use the software to load the photos you must position a graphic square frame around an image of the photo to pick the portion of the image that will fit. You select the portion to display and load it. You do this photo by photo. Having the photos in one place and as small as possible makes this much much easier.

I gave this to my step-daughter and her husband who are expecting their first child in February. The idea is that they will add Christmas photos to it every year, and their soon-to-be-born daughter will someday have a wonderful keepsake ornament filled with all the Christmas holidays growing up. We added a few pictures to show holiday preparations now, and it worked great. It's simple to connect and loads the pictures quickly. The interface was really simple to follow. Despite small image size the high contrast and brightness makes the pics pop so I can even see them without my glasses.

I give my niece and nephew a christmas ornament every year. I loaded the pictures of all their Christmas's past and can not wait to have them open it!!! My father-in-law cried when he saw how wonderful the pictures looked. Some of the pictures I loaded were of family members no longer with us. It is very special.

Vista loaded the software but kept trying unsuccessfully to format the ornament drive. I had to load the software and pictures on my work computer to get it to work. Not sure this is really the fault of the ornament -- just more issues with Vista.
Also, the ornament with the batteries was too heavy for the tree. We used an ornament stand to place it on a shelf and it worked great.
Poor directions included. Battery compartment screw stripped,..could not open. Upload instructions for pic's unclear,..figure it out for yourself! Visual display,..put on your glasses! Very cheaply made,..[...]
I was absolutely impressed with this contraption. One of the best things I've EVER bought! I bought one, wasn't sure how well (or clear) the pictures would be. Went home, tried it out, loved it SO much, I went back and bought 3 more! (NO JOKE!!) [...]. I would absolutely recommend this to EVERYONE!! I, honestly, wanted to buy it for everyone I knew!
This product is really unique. A definite for Grandparents! Very easy to operate and download photos onto. The screen is small, but the photos come through suprisingly clearly.
