I've been finding it difficult to read tiny prints and decided to buy a magnifying glass to help with that so last year I bought a lighted magnifying glass. It was wonderfully made and works well except that it was more suited to a tabletop and so I never had it with me when I needed it.
I was quite excited to find the wallet magnifier on brookstone.com, and it is perfect. Since I ordered two, I keep one in my purse and the other in my bedside table so I always have one within reach.

A very simple gadget which is very useful for someone who does not have the best of eyesights. I bought this product for my grandmother so that she can use it to read a menu, receipt or other items that she would have to read at the spur of the moment. This product is great for its intended purpose. The magnifier is way too small to be used for reading books and/or newspapers for prolonged periods of time.

Use this product in restaurants to see small print on menus, especially when the light in restaurant is dim. The light on the magnifier is not very bright but still helps.

I use this at home and at work to read any fine print, and serial numbers on equipment. This is the most borrwed item I own! Several people who have used mine have now bought their own. The fact that it has it's own protective case is just an added bonus!

This is a great gift for mom and/or dad, grandma and/or grandpa, especially useful at a restaurant with dim lights. Also a great idea for people who like to attend shows/plays and need to see the program. Makes a great gift along with a restaurant gift certificate.

I bought two and gave them to men with some sight challenges. Not only did it help them read receipts and bills, it also has given them the chance to be a little more independent. They do not have to ask someone for a flashlight nor a magnifying glass to check the numbers and words.
Works great with paperbacks and eating out.

I bought this for my mom who is always forgetting her reading glasses. Thought it would come in handy in a restaurant, etc. She had a bit of trouble trying to use it... it didn't seem to magnify strong enough for her. Still probably okay in an emergency.
Excellent product. Small enough to carry

I keep it in my purse to read menus in dim-light situations. Unfortunately after a handful of uses I had trouble for a bit with the light not coming on. The button seemed to get stuck but after playing with it a bit it now seems fine. I like the size; it's about the size of a credit card. I also like that it comes with a protective cover.
I would buy this product again.
