The "punt" of a bottle is the indentation at the base of a wine bottle. We have taken recycled wine bottles and have turned them into drinking glasses. The punt allows the ice ball to be suspended so less of the ice ball comes in contact with your fancy scotch/whiskey and thus even dilution. Some prefer it to not even touch their libation until it is tilted for consumption.
